Maggie Diaries - 4 months

Oh our little girl is growing up so fast. Last night we had to move Maggie's bath from the kitchen sink to the bath tub. Poor thing was crammed in the sink like a sardine! Some days I can't tell if she is getting bigger or not, I guess because we see her everday.

Now I don't think she completely hates having a bath, but by this pictures she defintely doesn't looks happy with us.

Tweet Tweet

Short post tonight, but I wanted to share some news with ya'll. I have finally gone to the darkside and joined Twitter.  I know, I know...I can't believe I actually joined either. But everyone who tweets is always talking about it, saying how much better it is than FB. So I thought I better give it try, not only for my own curiosity, but also because it has become such a huge part of social media. And I need to stay on the fore front of that! I don't see myself getting as involved with it as FB (and to be honest I am not THAT into FB), however it should be fun.

I am still learning the ins and outs but if you want to follow me, look me up!

Who ya gonna call...my dust buster

It's amazing how when you get older your interests change and you get excited about certain things that you probably didn't really care about before. For example, when Mr. C and I moved into our townhouse a year ago we were on the hunt for a new washer and dryer. Boy, I never thought I could get so excited about buying a new washer/dryer.

Well now there is something else I have fallen in love with, my Black & Decker Dust Buster. For all you mommies and animal lovers out there if you don't have one then you have got to get one (believe me when I tell you, I have not been paid to endorse this product). They are the BEST!  It makes cleaning up so much easier. I have been wanting a dust buster ever since I registered for our wedding. And, when no one got me us one, it definitely got added to my Christmas list. They are the most handy dandy little vacuum cleaners. I probably use it fifty times a day - okay I might be over exaggerating a bit, but I definitely use it a lot, especially since Maggie is starting to shed a bit more.

February Recipe - numero dos

Okay, Okay so I know I have been falling behind on blog posts, but it has been really busy at work and by the time I get home - sorry to say - I just haven't like looking at a computer. But I am here now and ready to share my second new recipe for February (if you remember by first was the cake balls).  I actually made this recipe last Sunday night for dinner and it was kind of unusual but very good. Mr. C gave it two thumbs up and said it was keeper.

Tandoori-Spiced Chicken
Source: January/ February 2011 Cooking Light

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2  cups  plain 2% reduced-fat Greek yogurt
  • 2  tablespoons  grated onion
  • 1  tablespoon  grated peeled fresh ginger
  • 1  tablespoon  canola oil
  • 1  teaspoon  ground cumin
  • 1/2  teaspoon  ground red pepper
  • 1/4  teaspoon  ground turmeric
  • 3  garlic cloves, minced
  • 4  (6-ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1/2  teaspoon  salt
  • Cooking spray
Preparation

1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a heavy-duty zip-top plastic bag. Add chicken to bag; seal. Marinate in refrigerator 2 hours, turning occasionally.
2. Once the Chicken as marinated for at least 2 hours, place a small roasting pan in oven. Preheat broiler to high. Remove chicken from bag; discard marinade. Sprinkle both sides of chicken evenly with salt. Place chicken on preheated pan coated with cooking spray. (Make sure the pan is really hot so it sears the chicken when you first add it to the pan.) Broil in middle of oven for 15 minutes or until done, turning after 7 minutes.

I served the chicken over white rice and fresh green beans on the side.
